Classic Grilled Cheese

I love cooking, baking and of course eating. From now on you'll find some of my post about those three. I'm not a professional chef, nor is someone who always cook in the kitchen. I just want to share what I know, that's all.

I love playing The Sims too. I learned a lot about English (language), habits and tradition of American, and FOODS! From there I knew that American often eat grilled cheese for lunch. What is grilled cheese? Whether it is real or not I don't even know. And as usual I google it, find many things about grilled cheese. You can google it too :p . Like I said before, the American take it for lunch. And me? Nooooo there's no way I only have bread for lunch. I'm Indonesian. Bread is just for breakfast, or snack. Blah blah blah I talked too much I'm sorry.

This picture really interesting. The ingredients are just bread, butter and cheese. So I tried to make some in roasted way (using oven), not really grilled using pan or skillet as usual.

At first I prepared the ingredients. Voila!
- Slices bread (the Morning Bakery bread)
- Butter (Elle & Vire unsalted butter)
- Cheese (Kraft cheddar cheese)

How to cook:
- Preheat oven over the medium heat.
- While waiting for the heat, butter one side of a slice of bread, add grated cheese. Repeat with remaning slices of bread, butter and grated cheese.

- Now you ready to put it into the oven. Place the bread-side-down gently onto baking sheet. Place the baking sheet on top of it as well so no need to flip through the bread.

 - Roast in preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned and the cheese melted (yeah it took longer time to melt the cheese).

- Based on my trial and error, after 20 minutes I took out the bread from the oven and the cheese didn't melted. I put it back into the oven and waiting for another 10 minutes. The bread is perfectly done, but the cheese just melted slightly. I don't want to put it back again, so I just eat it with wondering why the cheese didn't melt properly.

I assume maybe cheese that I used was not suitable for a grilled cheese. American use cheddar cheese also but kind of melted faster than Kraft cheese made in Indonesia. So maybe next time I'll choose Mozzarella cheese or anything cheaper, like Kraft quick melt cheddar cheese.

It's November already

It's November 2nd, it means we only have 2 months to accomplish anything we dream about in 2013. This morning I made this math calculation, to see how far I reach my goals this year.

Well, I have 78 dreams, 51 of them have been achieved. Since we have passed 10 months, it is 83% in percentage. Actually I should reach 83% in achieving my dreams, in fact I just reached 65%. But that's really OOOKAY. Maybe I didn't make efforts, or put laziness above anything, or maybe it is just not the right time, or whatsoever.

However I am grateful for all the achievements so far. Altough I left behind 18%, many unexpected things happened. Things outside the dream list. Where I was really kneeling over my feet, express my gratitude to Allah after His Grace is so Great. Alhamdulillah will never be enough.

Chicken soup and ginger tea for colds

I'm writing this while laying on my bed. Cold does make me suffer. Really. I'm not complaining, I'm regretting why I can't keep my health in this weather.

So, this is not my worst sick after all. I know how to cure, technically. Chicken soup and ginger tea does help when you catch a cold. I never have ginger tea, but maybe I'll try it later. Based on the internet I've browsed,  chicken soup does help clear nasal clog. Maybe from the chicken broth, I'm not really sure. I tried it and voila! It's just 1-2 hours since I eat chicken soup, and it is true!

So why taking any risks losing your immune system by having lots of medicine? You can just take a rest and eat healthy foods (rich in vitamin C for accelerating healing). Happy tuesday!

Cewek harus berani

Akhirnya update blog. Okay, leave it.
No, I won't do that anymore, it's too risky ;)
Sip. And as the over imagining person, of course I do a little on my way supaya tidak bosan. Melewati rute kampus-Gedung Graha Pena-menyeberang di depan Masjid Agung-melintasi alun-alun kota-and here I am, saya sampai.
Tetapi mari berbicara mengenai sebagian orang lainnya. Not everyone willing to do that, and not every girl is brave enough. Wh-what? Why? Seriously, crying?

Maturity

No one is born perfect. We all are born with flaws.  Everyone begins life with certain character flaws or immaturity. Everyone gets better or worse during life.  Maturity level may get better or worse depending upon your upbringing, your family, your home environment, the books you read, the friends you have and make, the school you go to, all of your experiences, including traumas, illnesses, relationships, work experiences and more can influence how fast you mature or develop your character. These also makes sense why people around the world have different character.

During the process of maturity, it's okay to make mistakes. You can learn something. More mistakes, more fast you get maturity. But it is not good if we make the same mistakes over and over again.

After all, maturity is all about not making the same mistakes, controlling yourself, thinking before making decision, and always have the second thoughts. I mean, you're not being selfish.

Menghadapi Hari Pertama Menstruasi Ala Lilik ;)

Banyak cewek yang mengeluh sakit perut berlebihan (PMS- Pre Menstrual Syndrome) pada hari pertama mens. Wajar.

Nah disini saya langsung minum air hangat satu gelas. Kemudian makan pagi/siang/malam. Apapun itulah yang penting perut saya gak kosong. Karena kalo perut udah sakit, mulai gak selera makan saking sakitnya :p

2. Ketika sakitnya udah mulai terasa, secara kontinyu saya minum lagi beberapa gelas air hangat. Setiap satu gelas dijarak 30-60 menit.

3. Kalo sakitnya parah sekali, sampai terasa mual dan pengen muntah, biasanya saya tahan jangan sampai "keluar". Muntah itu gak enak :S jangan banyak gerak aja, pasti gak akan keluar kok. Ikutin feeling...

4. Banyak doa, banyak diem, jangan jutek sana-sini hehe.

Nah segitu aja sih tips dari saya.

Emang efektif? Efektif BANGET. Kenapa air hangat?

Sincerely, Lilik. (lagi hari pertama nih!! :D)
